God returned to His eternal state to rest. When God began working, He entered into time, which was not His normal state. In other words, He is eternal, with no beginning or end. His world exists in a higher dimension than ours. There is no time, no limited space, and no past or future.

Genesis 2:3

“And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.”

God was satisfied with all the work He created and made, especially humanity, because humans can reflect His image and carry out the dominion He delegated to them. Therefore, God set His mind at rest. Adam, as the leader, managed all creatures and ensured that everything would continue to run in order. God left His work in time and space and returned to eternity to rest without worry. This is similar to a great boss handing over all that he owns to a loyal servant and taking a rest.

God also set an example for humanity to rest after a week of work. It is also a very important day in Judaism and Jewish tradition.

Screenshot

Genesis 2:2 “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.” After completing the work God had made, He rested on the seventh day.
