{"id":3695,"date":"2026-05-29T09:44:44","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T09:44:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scripture.amos.ip-ddns.com\/?p=3695"},"modified":"2026-05-29T09:44:44","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T09:44:44","slug":"genesis17_10-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scripture.amos.ip-ddns.com\/?p=3695","title":{"rendered":"Genesis17_10-12"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Genesis 17:10-12<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding the covenant, God Elohim gave more promises to Abraham. But there was only one thing that Abraham and his descendants were required to keep: every male child among them shall be circumcised. It was the only demand that God commanded Abraham and his seed to keep thus far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was a token of the covenant between God and Abraham that they should circumcise the flesh of their foreskin. Why did God use this token? Because the covenant is indeed a symbol. Why did God command them to circumcise the flesh of the foreskin, and not other parts of the flesh or something else? It originated from what happened between God and Abraham. God promised Abraham that he would bear a son; however, Abraham used his fleshly strength to conceive a child with Hagar. This indicated that human natural strength comes from the flesh. They thought they could fulfill the promise and work of God Elohim by their own effort. In the Bible, the promised seed signified redemption, according to what God told Adam and Eve in Eden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, God gave an important demand to Abraham and his descendants to circumcise the flesh of their foreskin. It meant they should cut off their natural strength and rely on God Elohim. God let them remember that their fleshly works cannot fulfill the will of God or satisfy God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why did God tell them to be circumcised at eight days? In the Bible, Jesus rose from the dead on the eighth day. It meant they should rise to new life from the eighth day by circumcising the flesh. Whoever is born in the house or bought with money from any stranger should be circumcised at eight days. This implied that God would not only redeem Abraham\u2019s descendants, but also other believers in Jesus Christ, because they are bought by the blood of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salvation is the plan of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Genesis 17:10-12 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.
