{"id":3707,"date":"2026-07-05T08:37:43","date_gmt":"2026-07-05T08:37:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scripture.amos.ip-ddns.com\/?p=3707"},"modified":"2026-07-05T08:37:43","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T08:37:43","slug":"genesis18_1-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scripture.amos.ip-ddns.com\/?p=3707","title":{"rendered":"Genesis18_1-3"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Genesis 18:1-3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the heat of the day, Abraham sat in the tent door. This indicated that Abraham was waiting for someone. Obviously, he was waiting for God Elohim. He had not been able to communicate with God for thirteen years. After God had set up a covenant with him, he desired to meet God again. As a man following God, we should prepare to meet God at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to what Abraham did when he saw God with two angels, he had prepared for this moment. He saw them, ran to meet them from the tent door, and then bowed himself toward the ground. This sequence of actions indicated that Abraham was familiar with how to greet God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Life has no meaning for everyone who does not have God. In other words, God is the meaning of everyone\u2019s life. That is why Abraham desired to meet God. Life is empty for everyone without God. Hence, Abraham prayed that God would not pass away from him. He wanted to stay with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abraham spent almost his entire life wandering around the land that God had promised to him. When he was ninety-nine years old, apart from his wealth, he did not even have a son to carry on his mission of following God. Therefore, he grasped every opportunity to meet God.
