Genesis 1_1

Gen. 1:1- “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
The word “create” is (bara) in Hebrew.
Throughout the entire Bible, this verb is used only for God.
Strictly speaking, no one except God has the ability to use this kind of creating.
Only the Creator can bring something into existence out of nothing.

To create, in this sense, means that something which did not exist appears by God’ s power.
Remember this, because it is a fundamental law of the universe.
It is also one of the greatest characteristics of God.
Human beings can make things that did not exist before, but this is not true creation in God’ s eyes.
Human making is simply forming something from materials that already exist, not bringing something out of nothing.

This is a basic and important concept in the Bible.
If you want to understand God’ s word, remember this term “create.”
By understanding this essential truth, you will begin to see the reality of the world.
