Genesis 1:5
And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
From the first day to the sixth day, we see a beautiful and precise picture of God’s work. Step by step and layer by layer, everything He did reveals the wonderful meaning of order. There was no chaos or disorder. First came light; second, the firmament and the sky; third, dry land and plants; fourth, the sun and the moon; fifth, living creatures in the water and birds in the air; and finally animals, including humanity. Each lower layer became the foundation of the higher layers.
This order corresponds closely to the basic operation of biological systems. Even today, humanity still cannot build an isolated biological system like the Earth. So in the time of Moses, did he know this biological knowledge? I believe he did not—certainly far less than a modern university student. Yet his record is remarkably precise and logical in its overall structure.
Furthermore, regarding the order of the six days of creation, we can see the power of God resisting chaos. If you know a little about the second law of thermodynamics, you know that the natural tendency of our world is toward disorder. We observe entropy increasing, yet we often fail to acknowledge that there must be a sustaining power upholding the universe against chaos. Order brings beauty to life, while chaos born of darkness leads toward death. By the way, God also created darkness. Order or chaos, life or death—it is up to you. You have free will.
Thank God for His creation!
