Genesis2_4-5

Genesis 2:4

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

These verses correspond to Genesis 1:1–2. After God created the heavens and the earth, Lucifer (Satan) and one-third of the angels rebelled against God. Because God judged all things, including the heavens and the earth, He made them again. That is why Genesis 2:4 uses the word created first and then made.

This time, God made the earth first and the heavens next—the reverse of the original order. This is because God planned to create a corporate man to fulfill His intention. God desired to gain a group of people who would express Him and represent His dominion. Therefore, the earth became central to His work, since the following verse mentions items step by step, leading to humanity.

Genesis 2:5 shows that before any plant was in the earth or any herb had grown, the LORD God had not yet sent rain, and there was no man to cultivate the ground.

Human beings are so important in God’s plan that we should treasure our time and faithfully follow God.
