Genesis6_1-4

Genesis 6:1-4

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Fallen angels and human beings committed a uniquely evil act that violated the attribute of holiness belonging to God Elohim. This led God to destroy them. Holiness is as important as His righteousness. We understand holiness far less than His love and righteousness. Even David was displeased because God made a breach upon Uzzah, who put forth his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it (2 Samuel 6:6–8). Opposing His holiness brings serious consequences.

Fallen angels married the daughters of humans and bore giants on the earth. These giants were impure and corrupt, breaking the order of God’s attributes. Perhaps those fallen angels had a special physical form that enabled them to bear children with human daughters, or they took on human bodies to produce giants. Although the fallen angels were called the sons of God, they were entirely different from humans. It was similar to the difference between gorillas and humans, even though both are biological creatures. We do not know the exact details of how fallen angels and human daughters produced a generation, but one thing is certain: they committed evil by altering humanity. Perhaps it involved a kind of advanced biological manipulation that changed the human physical body through the fallen angels. That is why their offspring became mighty men of old, men of renown—possibly the origin of some major figures in ancient myths. What they did was like forcing a gorilla and a human to produce offspring—something filthy and evil. Therefore, God chose to destroy them completely from the earth.

Another terrible consequence was that God reduced the lifespan of human beings to one hundred and twenty years—one-tenth of the lifespans recorded in Genesis chapter 5. Since humans were flesh, the Spirit of God would not always strive with them. Holiness is a fundamental boundary that all creation must not violate. Therefore, any modern technology that attempts to corrupt the purity of humanity will certainly fail.
