Genesis 7:17–20
And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.
And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
The floodwaters were immense and covered all the mountains to a depth of fifteen cubits. If there were no Highest One who handles and governs nature and the universe, natural disasters would be severe, causing damage beyond the endurance of humanity and other creatures. In just forty days, the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth. Compared with other planets in the solar system, all of them have hostile conditions without suitable environments for living creatures, whereas the earth is the opposite. It is evident that one true God dominates the universe and sustains all living creatures. Nevertheless, some people refuse to believe in Him and deny Him.
As the waters rose, the ark was borne up and lifted above the earth. The ark was unfamiliar to that generation. Whether it would work or not, they did not know. According to archaeological evidence, researchers found the ark on a mountain in Turkey. This also proves that one true God arranged all of this.
Furthermore, the number forty also represents suffering throughout the entire Bible. The waters came upon the earth for forty days to execute judgment and cause all living things to suffer. Only those who entered the ark were saved from the waters. The significance of the number forty also proves that there is one true God who governs everything, even the writing of the Bible.
The greater the disaster, the greater the intervention of God Elohim.
