Genesis 8:4-5
And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month , on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
Everything is governed by God Elohim, especially matters concerning His people. The time and place where the ark rested were described clearly. It was neither a coincidence nor a random event for the ark and Noah; it was arranged by God Elohim. Only when the ark rested upon a higher mountain could Noah first recognize that the floodwaters had stopped, because that part of the earth would be exposed sooner. Since they had been shut inside the ark for more than one hundred and fifty days, their physical and psychological condition needed to be adjusted. God remembered His people by caring for every aspect of their lives.
When the waters continued to decrease until the appointed time, the tops of the mountains became visible. This sight brought hope to Noah. It signaled that the terrible disaster would soon come to an end. Why did Moses record the time and location of the ark’s resting place in such detail? Because God Elohim, like a father to His servant Noah, counted the days carefully, just as a father pays close attention to his son.
On one hand, these detailed verses reflect a true historical event. On the other hand, they imply that God acts as a father who watches over and cares for His people.
God Elohim is not only the Creator of all people but also their true Father!
