Genesis8_13-19

Genesis 8:13–19

And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him:

Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

What happened was definitive and governed by God Elohim. The dates indicated that everything was under His control and occurred at the appointed time. The floodwaters lasted for approximately one year, from Noah’s six hundredth to his six hundred and first year. When he looked out from the removed cover of the ark, the face of the ground was dry. Then, after almost one month, the earth had dried entirely. From another angle, this meant that every disaster was measured and counted by God Elohim — when it would begin and end was determined by Him.

Meanwhile, God commanded Noah to go forth from the ark with his family and to bring forth all the creatures that were with him. This indicated that God remembered them in His heart. Perhaps there was a detailed record of every creature. From these concrete verses, it is evident that God cared for all creatures carefully and seriously. Furthermore, God commanded Noah to let them breed abundantly in the earth, and to be fruitful and multiply upon the earth. That was a necessary step in God’s original plan.

Therefore, everything that happened proceeded in an orderly manner, even after the floodwaters disaster. All creatures after their kinds went forth out of the ark. According to the previous context, the ark was large but not extraordinarily huge, yet it could contain all kinds of living things — creeping things, fowl, beasts, and so on. Compared with the current diversity of biological creatures, it is difficult to believe that the ark contained all their kinds. Nevertheless, the diversity of creatures was preserved by Noah and his ark. Remarkably, modern gene banks are vast and comprehensive, far exceeding the ark in scale. Yet this demonstrates that God’s wisdom and intelligence are far beyond modern science.

God Elohim is wise; He plans everything and governs all that comes to pass.
