Genesis 9:7

And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

God Elohim gave Noah and his family a command that He had mentioned several times: to be fruitful and multiply, and to bring forth abundantly on the earth. This was God’s desire and will. From the beginning, God planned for human beings to multiply until they filled the ground. God intended to defeat His enemies through mankind and to let them live upon the earth to govern it, because His adversary, Satan, had betrayed God together with one‑third of the angels.

Although Adam and Eve failed when they were tempted by Satan, God still kept His plan and allowed humanity to bear His will. The serpent deceived and misled Eve and Adam, but this did not mean that God lost His battle or failed in His plan. As long as mankind lived on the earth, there remained an opportunity for God to carry out His purpose. Looking over the entire history, we find that God succeeded in fulfilling His plan through Jesus Christ.

Even though we have entered the new era of the New Testament, we should also be fruitful and bear more descendants. It is not only a command from God but also a blessing to those who bring forth life. Praise God Elohim, who blesses those who hear His word and obey His commands.
