Genesis 7:6-9

And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,

There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

When Noah was six hundred years old, his grandfather Methushelah died, and his father Lamech had died five years earlier. It was a difficult time for him, as his father and grandfather passed away one after another. Compared with his ancestors, Noah had children much later—more than three hundred years later than they did. It was a challenging experience for Noah, for he did not bear his descendants until he was five hundred years old.

A righteous person often experiences harder periods of life before God Elohim. When the floodwaters came upon the earth, Noah’s father and other ancestors had already died or had been taken by God. On the one hand, God protected His people from the coming disaster until their time had passed. On the other hand, God arranged every circumstance so that His servant could fulfill His will without being burdened by concerns for his relatives. Therefore, there was a clear distinction in the lineage of His people and in the timeline of events. When we observe the historical events of Israel, we find patterns similar to those in Noah’s days.

By the mercy of God, both clean and unclean creatures were saved through Noah’s ark. They entered the ark two by two, male and female, which showed that there was an order established among the creatures. It was a beautiful scene, portraying the moment when the ark was being prepared for its journey.
