Genesis 8:21

And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

Noah was a wise man who knew God Elohim. After going through the immense floodwaters disaster, he might have reflected on God Elohim in many ways. Hence, he understood God Elohim and offered burnt offerings to God Elohim first after leaving the ark. As we know, at that generation, human beings did not eat meat as food. Obviously, what he did was not for himself or his family members. What he did was far more than what Abel had brought as sheep to God Elohim.

Perhaps, when he saw all living creatures apart from water creatures were swept away in the immense waters, he understood that it seemed nothing could satisfy the requirement of the righteousness of God Elohim. Moreover, God had to remove all sinful living things from the earth to appease His righteous nature.

Therefore, Noah did not only bring offerings as Abel did, but also burnt different kinds of clean beasts and fowls to God Elohim. Hence, after water baptism, then fire baptism, it might have satisfied God’s righteous anger.

From the beginning, human beings fell because of eating, however, Noah didn’t care for his eating first after this huge disaster but instead confessed his sin and that of other creatures through burnt offerings. It made God pleased when He smelled a sweet savour. At that time, God Elohim gave Noah and all humanity a promise that He will not smite any more every living thing, as He had done. Even though the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth, God will not curse the ground any more for man’s sake.

Noah was a revelatory one.
